“The Brigham Research Institute has announced that Ursula Kaiser, MD, chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension, assumed the role of BRI director on Oct. 1 while Marc Sabatine, MD, of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, will continue to advise and offer leadership in his formal role as past director. Sabatine is also chair of the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Charles Serhan, PhD, DSc, director of the Center for Experimental Therapeutics and Reperfusion Injury in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, will serve as incoming co-director. Each leader of the BRI makes a six-year commitment to serving on the BRI Executive Committee, first as co-director for two years, then director for two years and finally as past director for two years.
