ARE YOU READY TO COMMERCIALIZE? THEN YOU CAN’T MISS THIS EVENT!
Fast Pitch for Funding is an event hosted by the Boston Biomedical Innovation Center, that provides you the opportunity to pitch a team of experts on your research. You will receive immediate feedback with the opportunity to apply for our grant programs which can provide up to $350,000 per project, business coaching, and project management.
This is not a public event. To protect our researchers and their ideas we only allow our experts and the people pitching to be in the room at the time of the event.
- Pitches for awards should fulfill unmet clinical needs in the areas of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders.
- Pitches should emphasize potential commercial value.
- Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes.
- Pitch slide decks are welcome, but not expected.
- ** Only Faculty from B-BIC member institutions are eligible to attend.
For more information, please feel free to contact us.
Q: Who can pitch/ attend?
A: Faculty from B-BIC member institutions are eligible to apply. For-profit entities are eligible to apply as collaborators with Principal Investigators at member institutions. No exceptions.
Q: Do I need to have slides?
A: Pitches only need to address the suggested elements. Use of reference materials or other visual elements is welcome if they help convey the product concept and can be shared using your laptop screen. AV equipment will not be available, but you can share your materials by bringing printed copies or using your laptop screen.
Q: How formal will the pitches be?
A: You will be pitching to 1-2 experienced biotech executives with everyone seated around a table. Allow time for their questions and be prepared for them to ask several questions. There will be multiple tables in the room where other investigators will also be pitching.
Q: Can I present confidential information?
A: Everyone hearing the pitches has signed confidentiality agreements. However, since you will be pitching in an area where others may overhear or see your information we urge everyone to use their judgment when deciding what to share.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please feel free to contact us with any questions at 857-307-2440 or firstname.lastname@example.org with Fast Pitch in the subject line.
